On August 12, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam, announced that Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung has signed a decision to include Quang noodles in the list of National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism has requested the chairpersons of People's Committees at all levels, where intangible cultural heritages are included in the list in Article 1 of this decision, to undertake state management in accordance with the provisions of the law on cultural heritage within the scope of their duties and powers.
Further elaborating on the topic , Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong said: "From growing rice, to the production of rice, noodle processing, use of water sources, ingredient selection, and spices - all these are processes of transmission, passing on the profession and embodying folk and indigenous cultural elements to create an authentic bowl of Quang Nam noodles."
